Following the huge success of our open days last year, we will once again be opening up the site to visitors for a fun-filled afternoon finding out about what went on in Limpsfield and the surrounding area during WWII.
Our dashing air raid wardens will once again be on hand to bring the air raid shelter experience to life, with stories and demonstrations on what it was like for the Limpsfield school children and their families.
Dates for the open days are as follows and the sessions start at 30 minute intervals – 2, 2.30, 3 and 3.30pm:
- Saturday 9 May – Surrey Day, 2-4PM
- Sunday 19 July – Summer Open Day, 2-4PM
Please reserve your place via our eventbrite listing here: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/2026-air-raid-shelters-open-days-may-and-july-tickets-1983266162480
Tickets are FREE of course, but should be reserved in advance. We would appreciate cash donations on the day. It all goes towards keeping the air raid shelters and surrounding area in tip top condition!
This year we are working in conjunction with the Royal British Legion at Grub Street, which of course also played a very important role in WW2 and has some great wartime memorabilia – as well as coffee, teas, drinks and snacks! So please make sure you visit them as well on the day – and the rest of the year too! Members and non-members always welcome.
