Limpsfield Common is a fantastic area of woodland and common that’s great for cycling, and there are many trails on Limpsfield Common that may be used responsibly and respectfully by cyclists.
Cyclists are welcome to enjoy Limpsfield Common, but must follow waymarking and shared-use guidance at all times:
- BLUE arrow – Bridleway or shared-use path. These routes may be used by cyclists but are shared with walkers and horse riders. You must give way to both and pass slowly and courteously.
- ORANGE arrow – Designated Limpsfield Cycle Route (linking Limpsfield Village to Chart Village). Cyclists may use these signed paths.
- YELLOW arrow – Public footpath. These paths are not permitted for cycling.
If a trail is not waymarked, it is not an authorised bike trail. Riding such routes is entirely at your own risk and may also put other visitors at risk. Unauthorised trails have not been inspected, maintained or managed by the National Trust.
Please always ride considerately, respect other users, slow down when approaching walkers or horses, and be courteous at all times.
Children must be supervised by a responsible adult.

However we would like to remind visitors to Limpsfield Common and Limpsfield Chart that no motorised bikes, scooters or unicycles are permitted on Limpsfield Common.
Any use of motorbikes or other motorised vehicles should be reported to the police or the National Trust or Titsey Estate (High Chart pine forest area).
By riding responsibly and respecting this landscape, we can ensure Limpsfield Common remains a safe, welcoming and beautiful place for future generations to enjoy.
