2025 has already been eventful for the National Trust Limpsfield Common Local Committee, with a change in leadership as both Tony Pearson and Yves Le Hur step down from their roles.

Tony has relinquished his role as Chair after three years in the position and seven years on the committee. His final meeting as Chair took place on 27th February. He has played a significant role in the stewardship of the local committee, which collaborates with the National Trust to help shape the management of the property by conveying the views of local stakeholders. Additionally, the local committee oversees the Friends of Limpsfield Common, which engages the community in conservation efforts.
Tony has passed the mantle to Ann Osborn, who is also the joint leader of Limpsfield in Bloom and a councillor on Limpsfield Parish Council.
Originally from the Midlands, Tony Pearson has lived in Limpsfield on and off since 1974. After taking early retirement from international banking, he pursued a degree in Landscape at Sussex University and later joined the Thursday Task Force. Passionate about conservation management, he remains dedicated to supporting the Trust while ensuring the local community continues to enjoy this special place. Besides his roles in the Task Force and local committee, Tony is an essential part of the team managing the Air Raid Shelters, enthusiastically participating in open days in full costume.
Tony has also been an active member of East Surrey Walkers for many years and continues as a Walks Leader and Local Footpath Secretary for The Ramblers Association, covering Limpsfield. Additionally, he has served as Chair of Westerham U3A for the past three years.
Yves Le Hur, another longstanding committee member, is stepping down as Treasurer. A resident of Limpsfield Village, Yves has been part of the Task Force for several years. Alongside Tony, he has served on the local committee for seven years, including five as Treasurer—one of which saw him double as interim Chair!
Yves will be succeeded by Paul Sharp, a retired chartered accountant from Brassey Road in Limpsfield. We are incredibly grateful to Paul for stepping into this important role.
We also extend a warm welcome to Pippa Rouse, who has taken on the role of Secretary for the local committee.
The National Trust Local Committee comprises dedicated volunteers who invest considerable time and effort into preserving Limpsfield Common for future generations. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all committee members and to the Friends of Limpsfield Common for their loyal support.
We are always looking for people interested in joining the committee and to those who wish to support our efforts by joining the Friends of Limpsfield Common.
For just £10 a year for an individual or £20 for a household, you can really help us make a difference to help the National Trust in their conservation efforts, by helping to fund initiatives, volunteering for activities and events, and communicating what we do to the wider community.
